Earlier this summer, the Alzheimer’s Association was featured in our Community Partnership Spotlight , where we highlighted their focus of finding a cure and supporting those that are affected from this leading disease. Modern Vintage Home Care is excited to join the fight by getting involved the 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Fort Bend County, TX event! Will you join us in the fight? – there are multiple ways!

Every dollar fundraised goes towards supporting those affected by Alzheimer’s in our community, and this October (1st-31st), Modern Vintage Home Care has committed to matching donations – dollar for dollar – for up to $500! This means that whenever you donate through the Modern Vintage Home Care team, your donation has twice the impact!
Stand with us in helping the Alzheimer’s Association:
- provide care and support to all those facing Alzheimer’s.
- drive research toward treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.
- speak up for the needs and rights of people affected by Alzheimer’s.
This Better Business Bureau Accredited Charity is transparent with their donation allocations: 78% directly goes towards Alzheimer’s care, support, research, awareness, and advocacy; 18% is attributed towards continuing fundraising efforts; and only 4% is allocated for administrative purposes. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

WALK YOUR WAY
The 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Fort Bend County, TX event will take place on
Saturday, October 30th at the University of Houston at Sugar Land campus starting at 8:30am! The event is an amazing way to gather with others alongside you in the fight to finding a cure! And don’t worry – this event will implement safety protocols including physical distancing, contactless registration, hand sanitizing stations and more. Your health and safety are a top priority! You can register to walk as an individual, choose to start your own team, or you’re more than welcome to join the Modern Vintage Home Care team !
However, if you would like to join from afar, there’s a unique way that you can still Walk From Home! Download the mobile app to experience an augmented reality Promise Garden, where you can select a Promise Garden Flower that represents your connection to the disease, personalize it with a heartfelt message and plant it among others. You can also use the app to watch a prerecorded Opening and Promise Garden Ceremony, set a distance goal and track your progress as you walk, and even cross an augmented reality finish line.
VOLUNTEER
This event is almost entirely ran by local volunteers, and the volunteer committee is in great need for others to help out! If you’re willing and able on the day of the event – Saturday, October 30th – they still need more volunteers to help with set-up, clean-up, registration, water stops, Promise Garden and so much more. Our passionate caregivers are ready to help care for those that are suffering with Alzheimer’s and other dementias; however, we’re working towards seeing a day where no one has to suffer from these mental diseases.
